Dardanelle, in Yell County, Arkansas | Several years ago I had a 16' utility trailer that I had to replace the floor. I got some 1 1/4" square tubing and some diamond plate steel to replace the floor. I used the tubing to make a 'frame' to weld the diamond plate to and for extra support where vehicles tires would be. Worked great, still have the trailer and never worry about the floor. If memory serves me, I think it has been about fifteen years ago.
When I got it all welded, I used some acetone to spray on the metal and wiped all the oil off of it and then painted it with some primer and implement paint from Tractor Supply. Still looks really good. It cost about three times the amount of doing it with treated lumber but, you don't have to worry about it again.
