 northeastern Ohio | Could it be rust? There are several different kinds that affect orchardgrass including brown stripe and stem rust. There is no economical treatment. The best way to prevent it is to plant resistant varieties. Cambria and Baradana are very resistant to rust.
If not rust, then I would look at a combination of phosphorous and nitrogen deficiency. P deficiency will lead to poor root development and poor root development leads to other deficiencies including N deficiency. Adding N will cover up the P deficiency, but the lack of P will still stunt production. | |
