do you have any scrap wood to "practice" on ? suggest trying to replicate what might have happened, then find successful way to deal with it. The reason I say this is because I wonder if bleach might "pull" it up out of the wood. That said, might also lighten the spot. If so, can it be stained to match? Is it wax? Is it some lube from a power sander or such ? Is it glue?
This is why I suggest trying to replicate it on scrap-so you do not ruin the piece
