| I look at it as no lot is ideal all year long and that's what I've built around. I've added a slat barn and love it, but it's very costly and can't sit empty. I use the outside yards to procure calves that will have a chance at working and get them started so when a pen opens up, I've got inventory on hand to fill it. Dirt yards have a place, just not a good fit in weather like this.
I would love to have a bed pack barn right now to start calves off the truck in, keep them dry and comfortable, but then again as stated, stalks are in high demand!!!
