| This is that one in 10 year home run with the cover crops. I've had success getting them established, but have never been able to get growth like this year. I'm truly thankful for it as it has saved my butt with all these calves. Just kick them out and watch them eat vs wade in the slop in the yards that are a mess. Next year I'm sure it will be different, but I'll enjoy it this year!
Finish everything that comes into the yard. Load up with early calves every fall and push them out the door in the spring. Has worked well marketing wise. Sometimes I look at the prices paid for feeders and scratch my head if I should be finishing them vs selling them to the big yards...I enjoy it, why change haha | |
