North central Iowa15 miles from the Minnesota border. Seeded this with an airplane first week in August. Rye, oats and turnips. Calves prefer the rye and oats at the moment, but the turnips are thriving and growing fast.
I'm a firm believer in having an order in with the plane outfit and as soon as a significant rain falls I want it spread. Wet soil will allow the seed to penetrate and it will emerge within a few days.
