I’ve never seen cotton picked with green leaves like that before. Only ever seen it completely defoliated. Is that how they normally do it? Does it gum up the spindles do you know? Or stain the lint?
Looks like regrowth to me, definitely not ideal but,,,,, I’ve picked in leaves like that before. In fact, I got some right now starting to greenup after all the rains we’ve had and I guarantee you I won’t be waiting for defoliant to work if it turns dry!
You have to up your water, add some more soap (I don’t use spindle cleaner it makes a gooey slime on the screens) and hope for the best. Lint will be more light spots and you have to quit picking when it gets damp or you’ll have a mess on your hands. |
