Pickers have rotating bars with rotating spindles that pick only the lint, with the seed of course. Now a stripper has, in effect, corn head stalk rolls rotating in reverse, to "strip" the contents of the stalk. Burrs, small sticks (limbs) and whatever leaves are left after defoliation.
