We have been wintering in Tx for 12 years, going to try for four months this year if we ever get done with harvest. My recomendation would be to start at Padre Island, then to Brownsville zoo etc, then to Harlingen, McAllen Mission, to San Antonio, and the to the Hill country. Hill country should be warming by Feb, lots of things to do there, Nimitz museum,Fredricksberg, flower farm, LBJ ranch etc etc. Make sure you stop at some of the Texas state parks, birding center on Padre, the new turtle center is outstanding on Padre.

But add Rockport. They are still rebuilding after the hurricane but they’ve made a lot of progress.

We love it there for the seafood, fishing and golf. It’s much quieter than Florida. Cheaper than California, and closer to home than the rest.
