Ontario | The vast majority of the calls come from overseas so nothing can be done. They are bad enough here that my phone is pretty much always on silent. If someone needs to get ahold of me they need to text or leave a message assuming of course the scammers haven’t filled up the voice mail.
Problem is now they can spoof numbers so it looks like a local call when it’s not. They could even end up using your number so people will call you back thinking you called them or to yell at you for spamming them. My number has apparently been calling New York lately because I keep getting return calls from there including automated text messages like “busy, call you later”
You’d think phone companies would come up with a way to block some of these calls but it’d be hard to do without interfering with legit calls
