My 2 cents.

Christianity is NOT based on the concept of truly understanding the magnitude of the fact that God sent his Son to die for our sins.

Christianity to me is the acceptance of the fact that God cared enough for me, a sinner, to send this Son from heaven to earth to live like a mortal man, die a painful death for all my past, current and future sins. God could have do it anyway He wanted to.  He chose to send his Son.  I believe that in God doing this with His Son was the ultimate example for me/us. 

For me to understand Christianity I needed to learn the mean of these words from the view point of the Bible.

Justification.

Sanctification.

Grace.

What is the purpose of the law in the New and Old Testament.  Galatians 3:24

Faith. Romans 5:1-5.

Sacrifice.  Romans 12

Love.

Submission.

Boast.

Meekness.

Walking by the Spirit.

correct, rebuke, and encourage.

Slander, malice, deceit, hypocrisy, envy.

Deeds.

I hold to no religion.  All religion are rules taught by men.  All have some flaw in them. 

No matter how good of life you live, keeping of the Bible laws, we will always leave you short.  The only way to please God is to believe God's Bible.

Faith is not what you will do when you need to, but it is what you do do because you have it.
