I think most people are more honest with themselves online then they are in person. I serve or have served on several boards and all of us on them jokingly say (although its no joke) that we should all either have the meetings at the bar or go to the bar a couple of hours before the meeting starts. I think most are a little afraid to speak out all that they are thinking. Either a few drinks or an online chatroom loosens you up to truly speak your mind.
