A friend working in military food service was getting ready to serve a meal of ham and all the trimmings, and discovered there were more people present than were on the headcount sheet, so he sent the not-so-new guy to fetch the ham stretcher. Poor kid searched for nearly an hour and asked several other cooks where the ham stretcher was.
