Subject: Re: Breaking in the New Guy

Columbia Falls, Maine ( Downeast Maine)
On concrete job once I came by a laborer cutting a 12" footing plank, he had smoke rolling of the blade cause of the dull blade. I told he to turn the plug over cause he had the saw running backwards. I just kept on going, he looked at his boss and said he didn't know if I was pullen his leg or not. His boss said " he's the big boss do as he says". Laborer turned the plug over, Smoke rolled and all the guys got a big laugh out of it.

The story go's that while building the bridge in Bangor, Maine one of Chinbro workers was told to go get a red 2x4 strecher. He went to the tool crib told guy in there he needed the red 2x4 strecher, Guy said all he had was the blue ones, all the red were on the New York job, guy says OK goes and gets a bus ticket and goes to New York job walks up to the tool crib says he's been sent after red 2x4 stretcher. Tool crib guy says there pullen his leg. The guy comes back to Bangor. Shows up to work Boss says were yoy been , guy tells him the store. Boss says your fired( the guy showed him the bus receipt where he went to New York) They paid him for the time he was out there. They say a memo went out from the big office No More Jokes like that. This was back in about 89-90.
