NC Kansas | Around here, there's plenty of cows and lots and facilities scattered around the country. It rarely happens, but if it becomes a problem I've heard of instances where you can capture the cattle if they are on your land and haul them to the sale. I'm pretty sure the law here allows for that, and as long as you let the sheriff know and let the barn know what's going on it's fully within your rights. If I was in the shoes of the victim, and I didn't have any corrals handy, I'd try to borrow or rent a portable corral. Once or twice is fine, any more than that is a blatant disregard for your neighbor.
I own cows so I'm always keeping in mind that it may be my cows out in the future, and would at least want chance to make it right before the law is called or you haul mine to the barn.
Your Idaho laws are probably different Russ.
