Kingston,Mi | When I worked for a custom cutter with a fleet of 3 Massey Harris 90 combines, we cut quite a few fields of grain on various mucks. We (not me) got 1 of the combines stuck enough to know when to quit, hooked another 90 to the stuck machine and made zero progress, attached the last 90 to the train and again no progress. Meanwhile someone was dispatched to bring some planks to place under the drive tires on the stuck Massey. Still no movement, attached his Farmall M with a hop up piston kit, no luck. Attached the owners D12 Allis Chalmers, same result. Finally hooked the owners D10 on and that was enough firepower. Meanwhile we were listening to an approaching thunderstorm with 3 combine bins with varying amounts of grain, a couple of barge wagons of grain. Wish we would have had a camera and someone to take a picture of that assembly of 3 combines and 3 tractors. | |
