| Thanks for the update. After spending three months fishing west of you, I pulled my trailer down through the parks just over the mountains from you about ten days ago. Sounds like I just missed the weather. The drought in Terrace has been bad. No rain and hot - in rain forest country. One really fascinating question this year was what signal went out over the Pacific Ocean to tell the steelhead that they should come in three to four weeks early? My friend, who has fished for thirty-one years in Terrace, has never seen this happen before. My guess is that the chaotic weather patterns I've seen over the Pacific sent a signal to the steelhead that low water might be a problem this summer - and that later in swimming up to their home waters might be a problem. Anyway - again - it's an interesting question.
I always enjoy your posts, and I always think about driving east through Rocky Mountain House - but I always seem to be in a hurry to get back for harvest. | |
