Nw Iowa | We have a 780 this year, first new combine since 13 that replaced a680. Brother and nephew were running it last couple days in beans and really like quietness and hyd feeder house tilt. I think they are still running just about everything manually. It was also a demo so had all kinds of bells and whistles that will probably turn into crap in a few years. I think a lot of it is for custom cutters or where you are running inexperienced help. It was a demo so we got a pretty decent deal if we figured trade allowance vs actual trade price on old one ( what it was really worth) but if buying a new one would trim a lot of the options out. Personally think Deere will introduce a whole new machine shortly as competition is getting ahead of them. Deere has had present combine box for a long time. I am betting 3 yrs max. | |
