Subject: RE: Getting hay dry

NE Ohio
Give up and put preservative on the baler. I did it a couple years ago and I've never regretted it. Makes better feed and gets you more working time. In northeast ohio where I'm located, we have high humidity and short baling windows. Just made 3rd cutting grass yesterday and sprayed it all. Mowed it Friday morning, left the rows tight out of the discbine. Tedded after the dew mostly dried Saturday morning. Raked Sunday around 2 after everything felt dry (using rotary rake, single wind rows). Started baling at 4, hay was running about 20% moisture. Sprayed with The Juice, stacked the wagons, and away we went. Had rain coming up today from the hurricane so it had to get done.
