Relatively new to the alfalfa business compared to a lot of people but I have found that 65% is the magic number also.
Most of the time, you will have more hours at night with the correct humidity than you will during the day unless very cloudy and steady temperatures. As soon as the sun comes out, your baling hours are dropping fast to get alfalfa baled without major leaf loss.
