| You sure seem to have a hard time understanding that everyone will not react to a situation the same way you or I will. Farmers have an advantage of a long history of dealing with equipment breakdowns and things going bad. We usually won't get too uptight and "crash into something" at the first hint of trouble. But take the average city slicker who has never had to deal with a bad experience and the first thing many of them do is panic and go into brain freeze - and that is what leads to accidents. However, in this situation, having the rear axle snap at 60 mph could have affected the drivability to the point where even someone who can keep their cool may have crashed into something. Worst case scenario would be oncoming traffic. | |
