Mid Michigan | Jim as an american engineer I would think you would have already had a new axle put under the back of it and be driving it again. Looks like a couple of hours of work on some jack stands or a hoist to change it. Nothing more. What is the big deal? No different than if a rear wheel falls off a car or a front tire falls off a semi. Things happen. We had a semi in town last year that the entire trailer broke in half and fell on the roadway. Was not a poorly designed trailer, things just happen now and then.
