I’ll disagree there. I’ve had several landlord offered more money than I can afford to pay, but they turn it down.

They say they want to keep me because I plow their gardens in the spring, and bushhog all the field edge. One guy wants a phone call every time before I come back on his land. That’s fine.

Being a good tenant can trump those dollar signs, in some cases. Of course, that won’t work with investor-type landlords but there are very few of those around here, and I don’t want their land anyway.
