Chebanse, IL.....

The following were my "paycheck" jobs. Never got a paycheck working @ home farm.

Hired myself out to shell corn (scooper) while in HS. Also, delivered fertilizer then (bagged) and did custom side-dressing (aqua-ammonia) w/IH M, no ps or live hyd.
Then, shortly after HS graduation (1966) got a high paying job in local factory (Roper Corp, Bradley IL) making kitchen tables & building Sears garden tractors.
Then...got a govt job for 2 years. I became a 91B20 (aka Army medic) working in an Army hospital in Augsburg Germany. It was one of those deals where you opened the mailbox one day & read the "Greetings from the President" letter.
Then..after that, worked as a "grunt" building I-57 down in the Gilman IL area. Also operated a road oiling chipping machine...also other grunt dirt related jobs.
Then....got a shirt & tie job working in sales at a new Radio Shack store in Kankakee.
Then...got a job driving a beer truck for the EES in Germany.
Then....used my GI Bill for flight training & started teaching flying at local airport.
Then....started doing a lot of charter & corporate flying.
Then....started a flight school, charter service, shop, sales, airplane rental, etc etc with another guy.

Except for a couple years, these were all while farming w/my family.
