Why don't you have twelve kids? Or do, and you're collecting $24,000? Is it the fault of the Amish man that is the tax code? Most farmers on this site claim it's not their fault they collect welfare (subsidies).
I've never felt like the income tax was too high. It's a small portion compared to the SE tax. And the Amish do not pay the SE tax. If I could have always taken my SE tax and put it toward my land payments, I'd have a lot more paid off land than I do. |
