Subject: RE: Engineering career?

SC WI
Right out of high school, I went to college for civil engineering. I worked at an engineering firm for several years.

If your looking for a new long term career, it is highly advised to do it. If your looking for shorter term to support your farming habit I would suggest finding something else. Something with a higher ROI, like a trade.

The firm I worked for had 4 PEs (professional engineer) and many fundamental engineers. The PEs at the firm were rumored to make 250k a year after bonuses and company profits. I knew it was doubtful for me to become a PE. I thought I was smart, but most of my colleagues were brilliant. Plus my motivation to become an engineer was to buy a farm, when I bought a farm I lost all interest in the career.
