I had intentions of joining the State Police when I got out of the Navy... I changed my mind right beforehand for a number of factors, one of which being that I don't think my restraint is strong enough.. sure isn't now with these dash and body cams.  Too much scrutiny of police, and while I agree there's some bad apples out there, the majority just need to be left alone to do their jobs.  There's too many people out there that don't need to see a trial and we sure don't need to pay to keep up for 50 years of their lives, and there's others who aren't as bad but need a few rounds with a nightstick before they're put in the back of the car.  Can't do that for sure, just like everything else these days.  Back when they could put you on your knees in basic training with a gun stock to the back, there was a lot more respect given in the military as well.  The whole country has gone soft and we're forever going to pay the price.
