Subject: RE: Kids AR Reading Field Trip

Shelby, MT
First off, I am the parent that usually says tough it out but AR is one area I just go the wrong way. I think it is counter productive. Reading skill is very important, but when it becomes main focus of school, bs. The better you do the higher your goal is set. If they spent half as much focus on math as AR we would have some dang smart kids. Anyways I hate AR and I finally told my kids to just figure a way to get it done and I don't care how. If a kid is forced to read non-stop to meet goal it is out of hand. These schools get sold a bill of goods on most of these programs they implement.

Good luck I sympathize with you.
