Subject: RE: The old Golden Ox

We were there last Saturday evening. Smaller than before but still the same “feel” inside. Many of the pictures and decor were reused. Light fixtures with the brands on them were still there. The floor covering was removed (red carpet with brands on it) replaced with wood flooring.

The picture above the urinals in the restroom of the 1917 fire at the stockyards is still there, although moved to the new restroom location.

The menu contained mostly steak, I had a dry aged 17oz ribeye that was very good. Service was very good and prompt. I had a cocktail called “Tennessee Love” that was possibly the best I’ve ever had.

Over all We were very impressed and glad they didn’t ruin the stockyard feel. Prices are moderate to high....Plan to spend $50-75 per person. We will definitely be going back but next time we’ll make reservations. (We sat in the bar at a high top table).

Edit: parking is a mess with recent renovations and other businesses opening in the area.
