Subject: RE: Are landlords willing to renegotiate prices?

Bank-You started an interesting thread and I hope you have found some of the comments helpful. I continue to be surprised at the rents that are paid year after year. Of course everyone's numbers are a little different for a myriad of reasons. But as for me, if I can't make a "reasonable profit" on an average year, let someone else do it. It's time, it's stress, it's frustration, it's a loss of flexibility if something else comes up but you aren't really in a position to do anything because you have all your money tied up in inputs and rent and it really isn't making you any money so you can't act quickly and aggressively on the opportunity...

The above logic has not lead me to be the biggest, or close to the biggest farmer in my corner of the world. But I would bet my stress and frustration is on average, way way lower than my peer group. And I am probably not that much poorer than anyone else. In short, being able to walk away has been by far a net benefit for me....
