Thanks to everyone for the very kind words. I agree the splitting the stands could have been better. Actually it's not a block of wood but acouple of peices of channel iron that he welded up to bolt on the bottom of the bell housing.

If it's ok to brag about him. He is the Iowa State FFA Champion individual in welding and Champion overall in Ag Mechanics as only a softmore in high school. He will be going to the national competition in Indianapolis in October. He did the wrenching, blasting, and painting himself. There were many mistakes made and lessons learned. A lot of "well you're going to have to take that back apart because you have to do this first". I wasn't always available to supervise, but checked his progress often and I can say the tractor is 100% mechanically perfect in every way.

This was the first tractor I ever drove. I unloaded 1000's of loads of silage with it as a kid.
