SE Nebraska | Use the correct grease. If you don’t the plungers for the automatic deck plates gum up and won’t work correctly. If you have doubts that the correct grease was used pull them all out and clean them in a parts washer. Keep the deck plates clean or they won’t work right. They should rattle a little if you shake them. Change the auger drive chain yearly before harvest. They are a pain to change. Parts are expensive but are well made. The cross auger is too small and in high yield high pop corn it will overwhelm the auger and it will start puking ears forward in front of the feederhouse. The first time you run it everything will seem like it’s running too slow compared to other heads, but it will do a great job at slower head speeds. | |
