Your milkweed and monarch pic reminded me of my patch. was cutting a strip between a fence and field earlier and noticed a Monarch flicking from one plant to the next and after a brief stop on to the next.
I decided maybe 'she' was depositing an egg or two on each one so I cut around the patch.
When I looked the other day I only found leaves eaten with droppings no worms and no chrysalis but they do not take long to emerge from that part of their cycle.
We do have lots of Monarchs flying around here now.
Think this hatch is the one that flies south. | |
