Subject: RE: Tour underground copper mine

Kingston,Mi

I was going to suggest the Quincy site also, the powerhouse foundation was/is the single largest concrete pour in the US (other concrete jobs used far more concrete but were done in separate pours). About half way up the hill to the mine there is a pull off with a historical marker that states that the value of the copper extracted from the mines along the Keweenaw Peninsula was greater than the gold mined in California.

Hancock is also the site of a mid-winter Finnish Festival called Heikinpäivä. This festival started here and was adopted back in Finland. Anywhere in Da YOOPER land you can find signs advertising "FUDGE SMOKED FISH PASTIES" ( we are arranging to ship a truck load of commas). Drive M28 between Seney and Singleton, advertised as "like driving across North Dakota twice", 24 plus miles of rifle shot straight 2 lane that rises in one gentle grade a towering 7 feet with only 1 residence in the distance.
