South Dakota | In the drought last summer, we lost our front lawn. Didn't have the time to get it planted this spring so am going to plant this fall and looking for opinions. It is on the South side of our house, so alot of direct sunlight. It has a pretty thick layer of dead grass and clippings. I had thought about renting a small drill and no tilling it, but thinking now that I may be better off working it up and starting over with black dirt. There are weeds on it now that have not been sprayed, just mowed over the summer. Which would be the best way to plant the grass? And what would be a good dry tolerant mix to plant in central SD? I am not worried about a lawn that stays green all summer, but want one that will withstand the heat of summer and come back. Thanks for any and all ideas! | |
