near dyersville iowa | i just went through this. did your assessed value go up? or just your taxable value? Iowa uses an "equalization" system. I have no idea how it really works. but the state govt decided that the taxable value went from 48% of assessed value to 54% of assessed value. Im not sure why. but i have a hunch they thought assessed value was going to go down more than it did. and they wanted to make sure they got their money.
