Eastern Iowa | Oats/alfalfa are in, waterways and headlands repaired after the mess that was '08 in Eastern Iowa.
Spent all day today with the GPS on the 4 wheeler mapping fields in preparation for corn season (just got an Insight). Got burnt to a crisp by the sun. Parts for the boom on our new-to-us SP sprayer arrived, but they were wrong, so we're going to rig it up and try to go without them for the time being.
Lots of guys going pretty hard at it today in this area, but I am not feeling too rushed yet. In the 15 years I've been farming, the earliest I ever started was the 23rd of April for corn. But a sunny, warm, windy day like today gets you in the mood, that's for sure. | |
