I am.in the same boat. going to start a herd. next spring take a soybean field out of production and Seed it down to pasture in the spring. Then put cows on it the field next to it will be corn with a pasture mix seeded into it. After the combine goes through in the fall I moved the fence over to include that area as well. The next spring the pasture will go back into row crops and the corn stalks will be there pasture for 2020.
Easy to lay out the plan whether it works or not is yet to be determined. LOL | |
