Central Wi | I sometimes wonder if the guys that say get a job in town because it can't be done are bto's that want to farm the whole county and don't want the little guy in their way. I helped a small local guy in the early 2000's. Had 300 sows. He did ok until the coop he sold the wean pigs to went under. He never recovered. It made me leary of those small producer owned coops. Had another good friend that put up 4 hoops and finished all their pigs out. Made them money but they got out a couple years ago. His parents were in their 70s and his wife passed away at 45 unexpectedly. The big thing I would worry about is having a place that will always take your pigs when they are ready to go.
