West Union, Illinois

Can you shed a little light on your preparation methods ?????
I can't speak for anyone else.  What we always do is soak them overnight in the refrigerator in salt water, then slice them in half lengthways, and rinse them in fresh running water.  Then we store in water in the refrigerator until cooking.

Our preferred method of cooking is dry them on a paper towel, roll them in a mixture of Wondra flour, salt, and pepper, and fry them in oil in a skillet.

I found 44 in the front yard mowing Saturday.
