Go for it and dont look back, an hours drive isnt that bad as it will give you time to think and unwind.
Put the equip.over 10 years so you will always be showing a profit.
With your job, keep in mind you may be further off to hire some of the key operations done as time will be tight.
if you transfer to a new job, will you be able to take time off in during certain key times of the year? or will the seniority be gone?
I d be tempted to try it without switching jobs for a year , just so you know .
Two very different kinds of stress to deal with.

P.S.- i' m a 27 year provicial max. prison guard working 900 acres , wifey works in the court system as well, so , it can be done.
