Subject: RE: Do Union Dues make economic sense?

Westport, IN
Personally I am anti Union. I am able to represent myself to the company. If I don't provide a value above my pay, then I'll leave in my own accord.

That being said there is a place for some people.
Example 1.
You are working and you violate or appear to violate a company policy, you might need representation. You can go alone and and plead your case. Good workers that don't take short cuts can usually get by. This being said many workers need a layer of protection between worker and management. It seems union shop managers tend to be more aggressive to company policy. Maybe it is because they can't properly discipline/coach workers.
Example 2
Teacher unions usually included in dues an insurance policy for liability. Tough to find outside the union.
