Subject: RE: Do Union Dues make economic sense?

Lancaster, OH
My father-in-law was in a union position but he despised the union. He always felt that the union did nothing to really help them. They'd call a 2 week strike and claim victory with an added sick day for workers. During the strike, he'd receive a $20 check from the union.

Now I have a friend who was a union carpenter. He felt good about it and I saw him have near constant employment.

I think that being forced to pay dues to have the job is totally wrong.
