I'll get flamed I'm sure because agtalk seems to be very anti union and were all just lazy money grabbing communist but as I go do want to ask what is wrong with an individual or group to try to get payed as much as they can for a job that the employer is willing to pay? We do it all the time on the farm.

.

You can do that now. I've had several jobs in the past where I didn't feel I as being treated well or paid accordingly. I had a sit down with management and laid out my case. In some cases they agreed, in others they didn't. That's when I went searching for a different job and got what I wanted, or more.

I realize we are now in different times. 3% unemployment isn't normal but just about every trade is dying to find more people and that was the case before we got to these low numbers. I wouldn't be so sure just because your in the pipefitters union your good wages are because of only the union due to the fact there are very few young people going into the trades and a reflection of supply vs. demand.
