Just tell the kid the neighbor is dyslectic and have a conversation about the importance of correct spelling...misspelled words just create confusion.
The neighbor is looking for a reaction, don’t give them one. If it were my 8 year old I would explain to them exactly what it meant and why it’s tacky to do that kind of thing. Good life lesson.
