It’s easy to type that on the web but 90% of the time that’s not how it’s going to go. By the time you feel the need to use lethal force a: your body has been physically damaged enough it can’t respond to your brain’s commands or b: you can’t bring yourself to pull that trigger.
Before you decide to purchase a weapon, play out how that scenario is going to go. So the trespasser comes back again, he confronts you. How fast can you pull that weapon before he closes the gap between you and is in hand to hand range of you? Once you pull it he can harm you and most likely get away with it claiming self defense as you drew on him. Say you do get the jump on him and get a good shot, then what? Call and wait for police? What do you do to detain him in the meantime?
Not trying to dissuade you from getting a weapon at all, just make sure you have a plan if xy or z happen. Good luck and stay safe. |
