Linneus Mo. | Russ good points. As to the truck drivers since I have taken another job besides the dairy I have had to load several of these Somalian truckers. They can't understand English, Don't understand how to drive and are careless with hazardous tanker loads.
I think we do ourselves a disservice by trying to solve two problems at the same time.
Here are the 2 problems
1. not enough workers
2. Illegal hiring practices
So lets just solve one starting with illegals hiring practices. This needs to stop. I don't care if we are short on milkers we are long on milk, hogs, beef you name it. I know lots of people who have gotten out of the kill floors precisely because they were being pushed out by illegals. they would do the work. maybe not as cheaply at first but they would do it. And as the original article stated now that the Mexican economy is doing better the people are coming from farther away. the illegal immigration isn't about cheap labor anymore it is about continuing an illegal practice.
This reminds me of a drug addict. eventually the high isn't as euphoric but it is what they know so they stick with it. Somewhere the cycle has to stop. And I can't find a better time to stop then right now. Also the pushers of the same old way should be given the maximum punishable sentence.
We can deal with the fallout of the worker shortage after wards but until then lets solve one problem at a time. I never worried about a druggie going through withdrawal I did worry about them dyeing because of their addiction.
Also you are right the federal Government is stealing money from them to fill in the void of Americans paying into SS. SO why don't we grow more American's. There could be at least 40 million more of us since 1973. | |
