What I don’t get is why we never set up a permanent base on the moon, instead of that stupid space station we set up with the Russians.
It’s a simple
(well, relatively in the context of space flight
) proposition to supply a station in earth orbit. The logistics of getting payload to and also contending with the moon orbit is a magnitude of difficulty and expense thousands of times greater.
