Subject: RE: Well my rant is,.......

Pokiemoo, I don't want to argue the illegal worker deal. It's the law just like you said. I agree with you, the whole problem in my mind is a government that has failed to come up with a guest worker program that fits dairy and some other agriculture. The government found out the extent of the problem with illegal workers clean back with George Bush and 911. They didn't stop it because it would have caused your S.S. program to fail. You had and still have businesses employing illegal workers that are paying taxes, withholdings, etc. on their wages. The government needs those dollars to help pay for S.S. and all the programs that people are on. The problem never got fixed in the last 15 years, what makes you think the government wants it fixed?

I'm all for running all illegal and guest workers out of the country! But let's get them all, even every student, hotel worker, restaurant worker you name it. Let get it done in say 30 days, what would happen? I feel with all my heart these jobs will not picked up by U.S. citizens! If that was the case they would already be employed as we speak. Too many free rides has allowed this to happen.

Everyday I talk to employers from every facet of business "THEY CAN'T FIND PEOPLE THAT WANT TO WORK". People have become lazy! The U.S. and their families have enabled them to do this.

Right now if you would like to take the time and check the State of Idaho's website for government state jobs available there is quite a list. They can't find employees, and I know for a fact a lot of those big dairies in Idaho are paying more per hour and providing housing than what is offered on those state jobs. So if that's the case of more money on dairies makes a difference then all those dairy jobs should and would be filled by legal workers if that's the case. It's not happening don't you think those dairies would hire a U.S. born person before someone with questionable documents? However you need to remember as a employer you can't question those documents or you will be fined or slapped around by Dept. of Labor. Yes that has happened in Idaho.

Just a side note I had a rant about a church group a month ago that has sponsored Somali people to come to the states and get schooling and employment here in the states. Well why are we taking these folks? The church was paying all their bills putting them in truck driving school and going to find them jobs. Heck this church was big enough to employ them if they wanted too. Look at the truck driving industry, do we need to be bringing people in for those jobs? Why doesn't the trucking companies pay them more, it's a shame truck drivers can't live on their wages offered. So I guess we have to bring outside people to drive our trucks., Same deal isn't it? Except they don't have to get cow poop on their hands to get a paycheck.
