Subject: Time for geese to go south?

Cleveland, MS. Own small farm near Booneville, MS

Was out in the yard last Saturday finishing up some yard work and heard some "honking." Looked up and a flock of about half dozen geese were flying over at low altitude. Thought, "Isn't it a bit early in the year for them?" Kind of forgot about it then saw another flock yesterday. Again, isn't it a bit early for the geese to be headed south? I can't remember ever seeing any in July.

Thought they might be suffering from heat delirium since daytime highs have been running in the high 90s and heat index usually over 100*.
